چکیده
This study presents experimental and computational analyses of the phase composition mechanical behavior a functionally graded material (FGM) grading from 100 vol% 304L stainless steel (SS304L) to Ni-20Cr (NiCr) in 10 increments. The FGM was evaluated by extracting tensile specimens SS304L-rich NiCr-rich regions FGM, with former behaving ductile manner latter being relatively brittle. brittle response sample explained presence eutectic FCC+BCC this sample, as identified Scheil-Gulliver simulations along analyses. spatially varying yield flow determined through comparison finite element analysis experimentally measured stress-strain curves surface strain contours. results highlight that overall SS304L NiCr are preserved SS304L/NiCr but formation further reduced ductility within where it formed (90 NiCr/10 SS304L).

متن کاملExperiments and 3d Fem Simulations of Milling on a 304l Stainless Steel
Milling is among machining processes one of the most frequently used, but although milling processes operations are very used in mechanical engineering industries and as a lot of experimental results are available, some essential physical phenomena present difficulties of understanding. Indeed milling is a very complex process with physical interactions between shearing, compression, ploughing,...
متن کاملR-curve and strength behavior of a functionally graded material
The effects of loading conditions, specimen size and metal particle size on the crack growth resistance curve (R-curve) and residual strength of a ceramic-metal functionally graded material (FGM) are studied based on the crack-bridging concept. It is found that the FGM exhibits strong R-curve behavior when a crack grows from the ceramic-rich region toward the metal-rich region and the residual ...
متن کاملRelaxation Peaks of Cold Worked 304l Stainless Steel
In this investigation internal friction of cold worked 304L austenitic stainless steel was measured and the new peaks (PlIP2,P3) were found. The height of those peaks increased with cold work degree. The temperature of the main peak P3 was 33513340K at the frequency of -1,000Hz. The activation energies and frequency factors were obtained from peak shift. The values were 0.4evl 0.4evl 0.6ev and ...
متن کاملEffect of Mean Stress on Fatigue Crack Growth Behavior of Stainless Steel 304L
Stainless steel has been employed in many engineering applications ranging from pharmaceutical equipment to piping in the nuclear reactors and storage to chemical products. In this attempt, simulation of fatigue crack growth based on experimental results of austenitic stainless steel 304L was presented using AFGROW code when NASGRO mode laws adopted. Double through crack at hole specimen is use...
